Willis Tower

Whatcho talkin' 'bout Willis? The Sears Tower is changing its name to Willis Tower? Well, differnt strokes for differnt folks I guess. Hang onto your souvenir building replicas which have the original name on the base - they will instantly become historic when the name changes and new souvenirs are created. The name change will happen this summer when Willis Group Holdings, a London-based insurance broker, consolidates its area offices to the Sears Tower. As part of the deal, Wills Group gets to put its own name on the 36-year-old skyscraper. I wonder if Chicagoans will accept the new name or stand true to the original? Recently, I wrote about another rumored change for Sears Tower - painting it white. Whats next for this iconic building? Stay tuned to this blog for the latest news.
